Nobody:
Literally, not a single person:
Kinja: “and someone else”
Oh, okay. Good thing we’re addressing the problem of “and 1 others” sounding a little weird.
I like the compounding of the “this post” insanity with a fresh insanity. Keeps me on my toes.

I’ll admit, I rarely ever read through the list of names to see who exactly recommended my post. But it was kinda nice to have that feature available. I don’t know why they went out of their way to change it so that it hides all but the 3 most recent names.

It decreased in usefulness when they got rid of the option to expand the list (not that it was ever that useful). Knowing some random subset of three people who liked saved my post really isn’t meaningful at all.

Have we ruled out and someone else being a usename?

IIRC, you used to be able t o click “ and # others” to expand the full list. Then somewhere along the line they changed it so that each time you clicked “and # others”, it would only show 10 more names per click. It was neat, but yeah not really useful. My main complaint here is that somebody apparently decided to change it at all when there are so much more important things that actually need fixing on Kinja.

Then, having done that, it was of critical importance that if *only* four people no more nor less had recommended the post, it would say “and someone else”. While it continues to (broken title truncation? formatting bug) pull the placeholder name “this post”. While also referring to posts that don’t have a title as “replies”, and compounding with the “saved” foolishness. So if you make a post without title text and four people recommend it, you get “x, y, z, and someone else saved your reply this post”.

Not unless “and someone else” somehow managed to be the fourth person to recommend each of my posts, hack the frontend to allow four people’s names, and then un-recommend each time the recommends went higher.
I admit that’s just like one of you sneaky bastards, but no, I think not.

Ooh, good idea . Let’s see
Huh. Guess it wasn’t him/her . (What’s the point in having an account if you’re not going to write, reply, or recommend save any posts?)

maybe the “someone else” is kinja? has it become self-aware?
